I was lovingly raised on a country farm in Arkansas. When you grow up on a farm, in the countryside, there is plenty of time to be with yourself. I tend to enjoy being with just me. In the past few years, when I think about the future, there has been a shift. I used to only see myself. Now, when I picture my future, there is another person present. I do not know who it is yet, but I am ready to find them. This shift in priorities has been confusing and humbling for me. Photographing Domestic helps me to deal with the emotional change occurring in how I picture my future with someone I have not meet yet. Domestic is a series of photographs where I am being honest about my own narrative in this current stage of my life.
Domestic is a work in progress.
